An Augmented Social Network Search Algorithm for Optimal Reactive Power Dispatch Problem

Optimal Reactive Power Dispatch (ORPD) is one of the main challenges in power system operations. ORPD a non-linear optimization task that aims to reduce active losses transmission grid, minimize voltage variations, and improve stability. This paper proposes an intelligent augmented social network search (ASNS) algorithm for meeting previous compared with (SNS) algorithm. The users’ dialogue, imitation, creativity, disputation moods drive core SNS proposed ASNS enhances performance by boosting capability surrounding best possible solution, goal improving its globally searched possibilities while attempting avoid getting locked locally optimal one. evaluated on three IEEE standard grids, 30-, 57-, 118-bus test systems, enhanced results. Diverse comparisons statistical analyses are applied validate performance. Results indicated supports diversity populations addition achieving superiority reducing up 22% profiles 90.3% tested grids.
